Will Tesco compete with Sky?
June 23, 2006 – 10:35 pmAt the Broadcast Live show at Earls Court, all the hardware sales pitches seemed to be about HD; all the panels were obsessed with how to generate revenue in an IPTV, video on demand world. One speaker, can’t remember who now, suggested that it will be increasingly difficult for the incumbent content aggregators and there would be nothing to prevent the supermarkets from establishing their own online stores for content.
Spent some time with Dale Herigstad, the modest and inspired Creative Director of Schematic, and Mark Jacobs who recently won a Bafta for his work on the mobile application associated with the BBC’s ‘Coast’. Mark was a participant on the third of the BBC iTV Labs I directed in 2001.
