The recent World Cup in Germany has amply demonstrated what hosting a major global sports tournament can do for a country

Just imagine what it will be like in London and across the UK in six summer’s time?

The 2012 bid success was founded upon London creativity, diversity and youth but how will most people in London and elsewhere in the country actually participate?

How do the rest of us get to play in these Games?

Digital media and our creative industries will be at the heart of the Olympic experience on ‘television’, on big screens and small, on mobile devices, location based, at home and in the workplace

What opportunities will 2012 offer London’s creative businesses, entrepreneurs and artists – for innovation, creative experimentation, social/economic development and play.

We’re starting a conversation with Creative London and others about how to use emergent digital technologies and our creative talent to add something special to the once in a lifetime opportunity that London 2012 presents.

And we want you to be there….

Bring some friends, feel free to talk, listen, drink beer, play some games or anything else you fancy.

There will be some lightly choreographed facilitation of the event

Where: Hyde Park, near Bluebird boathouse, Serpentine. Look out for the pink balloons…(we will get smarter navigation details I promise!)

When: August 9, 4pm til whenever (come along and join in when you can)
